Highland Meadows Preservation Foundation

Highland Meadows Preservation Foundation 501(c)(3) is a non-profit dedicated to preservation, conservation and beautification of the Historic Highland Meadows Neighborhood in Dallas, TX. We accomplish this through education, advocacy, stewardship, and celebration of success in preservation. Our programs and events are designed to foster a deeper understanding of our unique place in the history of Mid-Century architecture and design.

Entrance Walls Restoration

Restoration of the 1955 entrance walls along Northwest Highway has been completed!

Built in 1955 by Longhorn Construction, these breeze brick walls mark the entrances to the Lakeland Hills section of our neighborhood.

This restoration project is made possible by generous contributions from neighbors here in Highland Meadows and members of Highland Meadows neighborhood Association.

Support Beautification

Highland Meadows Neighborhood Association invites you to partner with us as we transform our historic mid-century entrances to the 1955 Lakeland Hills section of Highland Meadows.

Your support will help us create a vibrant landscape that incorporates drought tolerant native grasses into the existing mix of mature trees and shrubs creating a welcoming area for neighbors and guests. The updated landscape will add value to our entire neighborhood, provide a sound barrier and natural habitat, supports bio-diversity, encourages pollinators, and reduces the heat island effect. This is the first step toward unifying landscape at all neighborhood entrances.

Together, we can make this vision a reality…

Special Thanks to our Beautification Partners

Brandon Stewart Real Estate, Joel Greenwald - Grunbuilt, Michael Thomas & Phillip Groves.

No Parking - 8500 Block of Mediterranean

The City of Dallas has approved our request to extend “No Parking” to the entire 8500 block of Mediterranean Drive.

“No Parking” has been extended to include the entire 8500 block of Mediterranean Drive and new signs have been placed. This will help relieve congestion and improve safety at Northwest Highway and Mediterranean Drive. In the past this block has been used by residents of Autumn Creek Apartments who do not want to pay for parking at the complex or whose vehicles do not comply with complex rules. These vehicles would often be left for days to create problems for school busses and residents who use the entrance at Mediterranean and Northwest Highway.

Additional “No Parking” designations are under consideration to address similar issues at McCree and Pandora.

Four Way Stop Approved for Rolling Rock and Quail Run

The City of Dallas has approved our request for a four way stop at Rolling Rock and Quail Run.

Thank you to all of our neighbors who signed the petition and supported our request for a four way stop at Rolling Rock and Quail Run. The new four way stop will slow speeds along Rolling Rock and create a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in our neighborhood.

We can expect to see the new four way stop installed in April 2026.
